GNFS SWIFT RESPONSE SALVAGES OVER 200 STRUCTURES AT KPONE MARKET FIRE
A dawn fire at Kpone Market on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, destroyed eleven (11) structures. Firefighters from the Tema Industrial Area and Devtraco Fire Stations swiftly responded and brought the fire under control within 1 hour and 48 minutes, preventing its spread and salvaging over 200 structures.
No casualties were recorded, though eleven (11) traders lost their wares. Later in the day, the Tema Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Patrick Sallah, together with a team of fire investigators, visited the market to assess the damage and determine the cause of fire which remains under investigation.
